We are all pioneers.  The definition of a pioneer is so helpful:  a person or group that originates or helps open up a new line of thought or activity or a new method or technical development.  Thank you for what you have taught me and what you have allowed me to teach you about this new territory by meeting on Zoom to set up Google Classroom or Google Slides.

As we move into the fall, two thoughts are on my mind that come together under one question:  How can we continue to support one another in this virtual reality we are navigating?

Concept English CPR Sessions

The third week of each month (September 14-18) a series of Zoom sessions will be set up – early morning, lunch, and end of day where you may join a roundtable session, that fits your schedule, to share your best practice, tools you are using, and experiences that have stumped you or helped clarify your teaching in our new virtual reality.  We must fight against this isolation and build community through collaboration.  Together we are always better than forging the trail alone. RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL TO BE ON OUR LIST OF INVITEES.

Concept English Virtual Observations

Sign up to have me drop in for a non-evaluative visit where I support you technically and help you trouble shoot issues. Sometimes we can only see things when there are more eyes on our instruction.   All summer I have had a colleague attend my small group tutoring sessions to help me get better at the online approach.   RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL with a few times slots/meeting information/ID’s and passcodes and I will let you know which class I will attend.

I was so happy to see that over 95% of you felt our institute session to be excellent.  Many of you stated its practicality as it was what “real teaching” will look like.  For those of you who did not get what you needed, I want you to know that I am always willing to help you one-on-one to differentiate ideas as we would for our students. We all come at teaching from a different perspective, with different needs, and this situation is no different.

Shout out to all our early collaborative teachers at:  GSA Fyler, HSA McKinley,  HSA Southwest, and HSA Youngstown.

You have access to a number of tutorials/resources via our Google Classrooms:  Middle and High School.
